Dihydroquercetin in Dietary Supplements and Pharmaceutical Products

Nutraceuticals
Due to its powerful anti-oxidative and capillary protective effects dihydroquercetin has thus far been most widely used in dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products. Dihydroquercetin is compatible for use in premixes which include vitamins, mineral complexes, as well as medicinal plant extracts.

The proven biological effects of dihydroquercetin include:

  • Synergism with vitamin А, vitamin С, and vitamin Е
  • Strong antioxidative activity which contributes to the elimination of free radicals and reduces lipid peroxidation which results in:
    • Gastrointestinal and hepatoprotective effects
    • Protection from radiation and recovery from radio- and chemotherapy
    • Reduction in artherosclerotic plaque formation by reducing lipid peroxidation as well as total low density lipoprotein levels
  • Improves the elasticity of red blood cells (erythrocytes) and reduces blood viscosity
  • Capillary protection resulting in improved microcirculation and blood flow at the capillary level, and promoting the development of new capillaries, which helps to:
    • Maintain blood pressure at physiological levels and provides a mild hypotensive effect
    • Improvement of the coronary blood flow and myocardial contractility
    • Provide an anti-ischemic effect
    • Improve cerebrovascular circulation
  • Immune system regulation and anti-allergic effects
  • Chelation, inactivation and removal of cytotoxic substances
