Immune System Support with Larch Arabinogalactan + 20% Dihydroquercetin
Human and animal studies have shown the direct benefits of larch arabinogalactan on the functioning of the immune system. Data indicate that arch arabinogalactan enhances one of the first lines of defense against bacteria and viruses. It stimulates the mononuclear portion of the immune system by supporting monocyte production. Larch arabinogalactan treatment has been found to directly increase the response of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and monocytes. It increased the levels of interferon gamma (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1-β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and natural killer (NK) cell activity. The intake of just 1.5 to 4.5 grams/day of larch arabinogalactan has been shown to increase circulating peripheral white blood cells and total monocytes count. This direct effect on the immune system, in addition to the effect on intestinal microflora suggests a two-fold benefit of larch arabinogalactan.
The immune support functions of larch arabinogalactan have been confirmed in clinical trials. It was found that patients taking either 4.5 grams of larch arabinogalactan daily has 60% fewer colds and 77% fewer respiratory tract infections than those not taking them. Additionally, healthy volunteers taking 1.5 grams of larch arabinogalactan per day were found to have a significantly higher IgG antibody response than those taking a placebo.
Our larch arabinogalactan has advantages over other products as it is fortified with 20% dihydroquercetin. As a strong antioxidant dihydroquercetin has anti-inflammatory properties which may help reduce damage to tissues that are bystanders in immune reactions against pathogens.
